Rome White Top 5 Bottega Veneta Men’s SS2016 Collection

Br: Rome White

I recently had the chance to view some pieces from the 2016 Spring/Summer Bottega Veneta Men’s Collection that made their debut down the runway of Milan’s Fashion Week. I wasn’t all the way impressed but I did find a few pieces I did like (keyword again being liked…not loved), so I decided I would share these pieces with you. Take a look at the pieces below and shockingly enough for this week’s Top 5 they are in no particular order.

I chose this piece for the jacket. It gave me a retro feel with the stripped design pattern on the jacket. The red gave it a hint of color that further enhanced that retro I want to say 80’s feel for me. Short sleeved and zipper friendly made it one of the pieces I liked from the collection.

I know you’re probably thinking, “What was Rome thinking?” right? Lol. No, I didn’t have a mini breakdown or anything. I kind of like this getup. I couldn’t quite put my finger on why though. I like pockets and places to store stuff which the jacket/top gave me room to do, it was also the stitching (attention to detail), it stood out. It wasn’t in the same color as the jacket itself it was in a different color as to standout to make a big yet subtle statement. The construct of the jacket was nice as well, so overall I liked the jacket, although I wouldn’t recommend wearing it with that scarf though.

Wait, wait, wait, lol, before you start going in and bashing me, let me explain. The ONLY reason I chose this was because of the blazer. The blazer stood out to me, I liked the color. I liked that it was metallic looking, and it also kind of reminded me of those ushers at the fancy movie theaters or something. So that’s why this made the list, no other reason.

This top that the model is wearing was one of the pieces that also caught my eye. I liked that it had a textured design on it. It didn’t give you just the normal painted on design; instead they raised the bar and actually gave you some texture with this look, again short sleeve and zippered always a plus, especially for the spring.

I like the overall feel of this look, well except for the sandals. The sandals are driving me crazy, I know its suppose to be a spring/summer look but sheesh, smh, the sandals with this I mean maybe its just because that’s just a little much for my taste. Back to the look though, the overall look is really nice, clean, and fits together effortlessly. I like the lightweight hoodie with the trousers. It really is just a very simply yet efficient look.
